At 8:30am in the morning on 23 July 2023, Mr Tan Thiam Lye BBM(L), President of the Taoist Federation (Singapore), represented the Kew Ong Yah Temple (upper serangoon) and went to the Asian Civilizations Museum to attend the book launch of “The Nine Emperor Gods Festival in Singapore: Heritage, Culture and Community” .
The guest of honor for the day was Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law. The person in charge of the new book project, Professor Guo Genwei of Nanyang Technological University, delivered a speech and thanked all the institutions and individuals who have made efforts and provided help for the new book. Minister Edwin Tong affirmed the cultural and spiritual value of the book, and spoke highly of the creative team and the Nine Emperor Gods temples. Afterwards, the representative of the author of the new book published the research results of the book and played a short film on Nine Emperor Culture. Finally, Professor Guo Genwei and Minister Edwin Tong presented the new book to various Nine Emperor God temples and took photos together.
